Sex offender Justin L. McGee will be released April 14

The Eagle River Police Department is advising residents about the pending release of a sex offender to the community.

According to Eagle River Police Chief Mark Vander Bloomen, Justin L. McGee is scheduled to be released from the Wisconsin state prison system April 14 and is expected to return to the community.

McGee, 22, was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child on March 7, 2006. The conviction stemmed from a charge of having sexual intercourse with a child. According to Vander Bloomen, McGee also has a history if inappropriate sexual contact with young female acquaintances.

Once back in the community, McGee will be supervised by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He will be placed in the Intensive Supervision Program and be subject to electronic monitoring.

McGee is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
