KINGMAN, AZ - Raymond C. Sanchez, 47, of Kingman will serve 12 years in prison after accepting an agreement and pleading guilty Thursday to felony molestation of a minor.

Although Sanchez won't be sentenced until 3 p.m on Dec. 5, the plea included the 12-year sentence.

Sanchez was arrested in November 2007 after two girls alerted their parents to several incidents that they alleged occurred the same year.

He eventually was charged with five felony counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of molestation of a child.

In September this year, he accepted an agreement to plead guilty to one count of felony molestation of a child and one reduced count of felony attempted molestation of a child.

In October, Sanchez filed a motion to waive his right to an attorney and withdraw his guilty plea to the September plea agreement, but he later withdrew those motions.

After negotiations with the County Attorney's Office, a second plea agreement was offered, and Sanchez accepted that agreement on Thursday.

The new agreement dismisses all of the charges in the case except for one count of felony molestation of a minor.

The second witness in the case told her mother that Sanchez did not molest her, County Attorney Matt Smith told the court. The mother then notified the police and County Attorney's Office.
