PLEASANTON -- The head tennis instructor at a Pleasanton country club has been charged with additional counts of child molestation after more victims came forward, authorities said today.

Henry Germain, 62, of Dublin was arrested at the Castlewood Country Club about 3 p.m. Sept. 1 for allegedly molesting three girls 9 to 12 years old from 1995 to 1999, said Alameda County sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson.

The alleged victims were the children of club members, Nelson said. The investigation began when two victims told club management about the alleged abuse and secretly recorded a conversation with the suspect in which he apologized to them, authorities said.

After Germain was arrested, two other victims came forward, Nelson said. They alleged that they were abused within the last three or four years, Nelson said.

Germain now faces 15 felony counts alleging that he abused five victims, authorities said.

Germain is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin suspicion of continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years and penetration with a foreign object.
